Bugyals are extensive pasture lands generally found at heights of over 2744 meters above sea level. They are usually treeless meadows with undulating slopes carpeted with patchwork of green and floral patterns.
Bedini Bugyal is a Himalayan Alpine meadow, situated at an elevation of 3,354 metres (11,004 ft) in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand state of India. Bedini Bugyal falls on the way to Roopkund near Wan village. Trisul and Nanda Ghunti are clearly visible from here. This lush green meadow is ado
rned with blooms in a wide range of varieties. There is a small lake namedVaitarani (Bedini Kund), situated amidst the meadow. The rich flora of the area includes ‘Brahm Kam
al’ or Saussurea obvallata.
For recreation and adventure, there is nothing like a trek to these bugyals and camping out under the stars. Infect all high altitude treks pass through one bugyal or other.
